The increased blood flow alone decreases inflammation in the body AND improves egg quality – both things that can only HELP a fertility journey along with our overall health.

And the mindset – let’s talk about it!

In a 2000 study, Dr. Alice Domar (who’s been studying this since the 80s actually) found that infertile women who went through a ten-week program of relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, and stress management demonstrated significant reductions in anxiety, depression, anger and fatigue. Most of this included meditation and yoga and was tested amongst those actually going through infertility treatments.

Within one year, 55% of program graduates had a pregnancy that resulted in a baby. This compared to only 20% of the control group, who did not take the course.

Much of yoga for fertility is structured around a woman’s cycle and specific postures to avoid at various times, and practice at specific times, too – similar to prenatal yoga! That isn’t to say that taking ANY yoga class won’t help you to decrease stress and inflammation as well. We would recommend beginning with the Gentle or Yin classes on the schedule!
